Aim
The course is part of the programme Master by Research in Chemistry, 120 credits, in which the student plans and carries out a major research project. The aim of the course is for the student to develop theories and, where appropriate, experiments for the project.
Course objectives
Upon completion of the course the student should be able to:
- identify and compile scientific literature for the chosen area;
- analyse and evaluate different theories and/or experimental methods for the research project;
- present the scientific background, and motivate and argue for the choice of theory or experiment, taking into account scientific as well as potential societal and ethical aspects, both in writing and orally; and
- identify the need for further knowledge acquisition.
Content
During the course, the student should summarize the scientific background of the project and choose relevant methods and present these orally and in writing.

Chemistry MA, Problem Formulation and Planning of Degree Project, 7.5 credits.
