Written examinations at another location (STAO)
As a student at Mid Sweden University, you can always take exams at our campuses in Sundsvall or Östersund, if you take distance courses, there is also the opportunity to take exams elsewhere. The exam must always be written on the same date and time as on campus.
We have agreements with a number of Learning Centres where you as a student at Mid Sweden University have the opportunity to write your exam.
If there is no Learning Centre where you live or within reasonable travel distance (15-20 miles), you as a student can contact a university or college yourself to arrange a writing place with them, in cases where they accept external students.
You must register via Ladok. There you register for the exam for your course, select the option for another city and then click on the link that is above the registration button. You will then be redirected to another website where you will find Registration for exams elsewhere, a form where you fill in where you want to take your exam.
In the event that you are going to enrol at another university or abroad, they are available as an elective option. Once you have selected one of these, fields are activated that you can fill in with contact information.
Also sign up for the writing site and take note of the rules that apply at their office.
The exam is sent no later than 3 days before to the writing site, check with the writing site so that they have received it.
The last day to register is 10 working days before the exam date.
Please note that it is not possible to register late.
As a student, you must bear any costs that arise during written examinations in another location.
If you do not intend to write, it is important that you unsubscribe from tentadst@miun.se and contact your writing site.

Abroad
It is possible to take an exam abroad, but this must then take place on the same date and time as on campus.
In cases where you wish to take an exam abroad, it is allowed to do so at Swedish embassies, consulates, the Church of Sweden (those that have an examination service) and universities, provided that other exam rules and Mid Sweden University's requirements for the completion of the examination can be followed.
