Aim
The aim of the course is to provide knowledge in elementary econometric methods and, based on econometric models, critically analyze various economic problems and issues.
Course objectives
At the end of this course the student must:
• Have a good knowledge of the specification and estimation of the general linear regression model.
• Analyze deviations from the classical model specification due to the non-experimental application situations such as measurement errors in the variables, autocorrelation, multicollinearity and hetroscedasticity.
• Have knowledge of lagged variables and dummy variables in the regression model.
• Know methods for analyzing cross-sectional data, time series data and panel data.
• Be able to use standard software and analyze practical examples with a software from the scope of econometrics.
Content
The course deals with problems with establishing and quantifying economic relationships as well as basic econometric methods. The course contains practical applications in micro- and macroeconomic theory.

Economics GR (A), of which Economics BA (A), Micro Economics 15 credits and Economics BA (A), Macro Economics 15 credits; Economics GR (B), of which Economics BA (B), Economic Policy Evaluation 7,5 credits and Statistics BA (A), Introductory Statistics 15 credits.
