Aim
The aim of the course is to provide students with skills to write scientific articles for international research journals in social science subjects which apply blind peer-review, and to review scientific articles intended for or published in international research journals in social science subjects.
Course objectives
After passing the course the student should be able to:
- write scientific articles intended for international research journals in social science that apply blind peer-review.
- review scientific articles intended for or published in international social Social science research journals.
Content
The course provides students with advanced knowledge on publishing in international Social science research journals, including how to write, evaluate and review scientific articles for international scientific journals that apply blind peer-review. The course includes writing a scientific journal article in English for an international research journal which apply blind peer-review and conducting a review of a selected scientific article.

The selection process is in accordance with the Higher Education Ordinance and the local order of admission.
Examination form
M100: Scientific Writing, 7.5 Credits
Grade scale: Seven-grade scale, A, B, C, D, E, Fx and F. Fx and F represent fail levels.
The examination consists of writing a scientific paper for an international Social science research journal and conducting a review of an article selected in consultation with the course coordinator intended for or published in an international Social science journal that applies blind peer review.
Grades: A, B, C, D, E, Fx and F. A - E is Pass, Fx and F is failed
Grading system
Seven-grade scale, A, B, C, D, E, Fx and F. Fx and F represent fail levels.
Other information
Limitation of teaching: Supervision is only offered at the time when the student is admitted to the course.
