Aim
The purpose of the course is to develope the skill of the students to formulate and study qualitative research problems in the business sector. This includes the ability to:
- present the premises behind qualitative methods
- understand and apply different methods of qualitative analyses
- identify and discuss the strengths and weaknesses of qualitative methods
- develop a qualitative research design for a selected research problem.
Course objectives
After passing the course, the student shall be able to:

- develop a qualitative research design for a selected research problem.
Content
The course is focusing on the qualitative research process, with an emphasis on the relationship between research problems and methodological choices. Different data gathering and analysis topics are described and discussed with an emphasis on their relevance for Business Administrative oriented research questions. The use of knowledge within qualitative research is addressed, and a critical comparison is made of how the qualitative method has been applied in different studies.
Entry requirements
Degree of Bachelor (180 Credits) with 90 Credits in Business Administration or corresponding education.
Selection rules and procedures
The selection process is in accordance with the Higher Education Ordinance and the local order of admission.
Teaching form
The training is conducted as lectures, seminars and tutoring. The language used in the training is English. Attending the seminars is compulsory.
Examination form
The examination is made through written test and course papers.

Seven-grade scale, A, B, C, D, E, Fx and F. Fx and F represent fail levels.
