Aim
The course aims to develop the students ability to conduct limited research studies in the areas of smart cameras and camera based metrology. During the course the students will deepen their knowledge within this area, review related scientific literature, study relevant methods, and conduct a minor project.
Course objectives
After passing the course, the student should be able to:
- Identify relevant methods and tools from the research literature,
- Apply methods and tools for a problem,
- Evaluate the possibilities and limitations of selected methods,
- Reflect on ethical and societal aspects of the use of smart cameras.
Content
The course covers:
- Deeper studies of one area within the field of smart camera systems and camera based metrology,
- Project in smart cameras and camera based metrology oriented towards a specific area,
- Studies of models, methods and/or technologies relevant for the area of smart cameras and camera based metrology.
Entry requirements
Electrical Engineering MA: Smart Camera Systems, 7.5 credits, and Imaging Metrology, 7.5 credits.

The selection process is in accordance with the Higher Education Ordinance and the local order of admission.
Teaching form
The course is an individual project with guidance from the teacher.

I101: Planning of project time and experiments, technical design specifications, Written Presentation, 2 Credits
Grade scale: Fail (U) or Pass (G)
O101: Oral presentation of experiments and results, 1 Credits
Grade scale: Seven-grade scale, A, B, C, D, E, Fx and F. Fx and F represent fail levels.
P101: Project work, 6 Credits
Grade scale: Seven-grade scale, A, B, C, D, E, Fx and F. Fx and F represent fail levels.
