Comparative Literature BA (A), Mobility and Migration in Swedish Literature and Culture, 7.5 Credits

n this course, you will study Swedish culture by reading Swedish literary texts about mobility and migration, which are two terms with overlapping yet different meanings. Both mobility and migration are terms associated with movement, such as the movement and change of both humans and animals, but the concept of mobility is often defined as the precondition for migration. In this course, we will discuss the concepts separately, but we will also relate them to each other and highlight them from different theoretical perspectives. Within the course, we will study the concepts in relation to a Swedish historical cultural context as well as link them to issues that are relevant in our time.
