The everyday life of healthcare personnel during the coronavirus pandemic
The aim of the project was to analyze the working conditions of healthcare personnel during a pandemic. Such knowledge can be useful for better preparedness, and provide valuable insights into the current working conditions of healthcare personnel in Sweden.
In March 2020, the interview study that forms the basis of this project was initiated. The interview guide, designed to provide rich material focusing on the daily work life, combined open-ended questions with a narrative inquiry, which served as the central theme for the interviews. In total, thirty-three interviews were conducted with personnel from various healthcare and caregiving settings across different regions of the country. The first interview took place on March 16th, and data collection concluded on May 5th, 2020. The intention was to gather insights into the working conditions of healthcare personnel during the initial stages of the Coronavirus outbreak in Sweden. The participants mainly consisted of nursing assistants, nurses, and medical doctors.
