Digitalization, measurability and value realisation
This project aims at how we can better explain and show how investments in digitization actually provide the values expressed in strategy and vision documents, but also create an understanding of when it does not happen and how we can better handle it.
Background
The background to the proposed study is the investments made nationally, regionally and municipal in what is called “digitization”. A little depending on how you calculate that is the multi-billion amount earmarked for digitization and the public sector is on thus creating an important market for the IT industry. However, it has long been difficult to follow the value realization of investments, which creates an imbalance between the public sector and industries. The present project aims to create better conditions for compliance up, measure and clarify when, how and where values are realized.
Target group
The target group is thus primarily the municipal citizens because they have the right to communicable basis for what is done and why. In the second place is the target group officials and elected politicians who get better tools for internal dialogue and business follow-up but also external dialogue with the public sector is available for. There is also hope that this work could be disseminated and be used in other municipalities and public activities so that the project has one value outside the unique context.
Goal
The goal is thus to identify and analyze current access to data and existing working methods for value analysis and value realization, but also to develop a model that makes digitization visible from policy to practice.
