Digital Database of National Tests

This project aims to create a searchable digital database comprised of old national tests (pupils’ answers and teachers’ comments included) for boosting professional competences in terms of assessment strategies. It is run in collaboration with public and private schools in Sundsvall municipality.

Old national tests constitute an invaluable resource when it comes to examining learner assessment and grading strategies. Moreover, a digital database enables easy access to pupils’ answers sorted by, for example, school year, topic, question type and correct/incorrect answers, which creates research and competence development opportunities within the English subject. The current project thus aims to develop an infrastructure that streamlines work with authentic data for university staff, teacher trainees and in-service teachers. Furthermore, this project is an important step in collaboration between Mid-Sweden University and Sundsvall municipality.
