Forskningsområden

My research combines research fields of masculinity; indigenous research; critical whiteness studies, place and space.

Forskning

By drawing on feminist theories; intersectional and poststructural perspectives; center-periphery and peripheralization theories; and postcolonial and critical whiteness perspectives, I investigate life stories of Swedish and indigenous Sami men that live in rural areas in Jämtland and Southern Saepmie. I investigate the complexity of how different power structures, such as colonialism and masculinity norms, shape these stories and affect these men’s possibilities to live good lives. By partly focusing on emotions such as vulnerability, I try to challenge stereotypical ideas about men that live in these areas.
