Assem adopts a deconstructive approach to critically examine technicity as an originary condition shaping culture within Western democracy, particularly as it extends into outer space. With an academic background in critical studies, media studies, social sciences, and engineering, Assem draws on the insights of Derrida and Yuk Hui to investigate how surveillance systems mediate knowledge and perception, framing human experience. His work ultimately aims to preserve cultural plurality and technodiversity, resisting the reduction of diverse knowledge forms into a homogenized “noodiversity.”
